The relationship between racism and justice was shown in The Color Purple, one specific event was when Sofia was approached by the mayors wife. The mayors wife touched her children and was so excited that they were so clean, and stateed Sofia a pipeline as her maid. In these durations, being a black char she was supposed to have been happy to have been offered this cheat, but Sofia was not a typical black woman of her times. She rejected the offer and got in a fight with the mayor, he had been insulted by her rejecting his wifes job.
It was racist that she was expected to have accepted this job by the mayors wife because she was black and at the time, thought of as lesser individuals. She was sent to jail, justice was used extremely harsh in her case. She was sent to jail, for what today world power be implementn as something minor.
Yet, because she was African American she was sent to dress harsh jobs in jail and was still forced to piddle for the mayors wife. Now days, this sort of jail time would not be acceptable. Yet at these moments in time so much injustice was being enforced among the people that this jail time would have been seen as normal.
This novel allowed me to gain ground that actual injustices were occurring and occurred throughout time. The racial injustices were occurring, and this novel allowed us to see some of the events.
