Jimi Hendrix: The Man, the Myth, and the Legend
It is inevitable in todays world that you will at some point list to a song by Jimi Hendrix. He is the great guitar player who blended blues and soul into rock music in a way that no one had done, or has unadulterated since then. Consistently listed amongst the grea hear guitarists to walk the earth, Jimi Hendrix was well known for his daedal and powerful lyrics mixed with hair-raising guitar solos and catchy guitar riffs. From the world noted show at the Woodstock festival in rural bracing York to his earlier days as a backup guitarist on the chitlin circuit Jimi Hendrix was dazzling fans with his amazing ability to parry the guitar. Jimi Hendrix in the end has left a legacy that has endured the test of time, one that led him to seem some like a demigod in the eyes of music lovers. These days it is almost impossible to tell the difference between who he sincerely was, and who society has turned him into. His legacy is one that is surrounded in legends and myths.
Jimi Hendrix, wasnt always who we see him as today. He was natural in Seattle, Washington on November 27, 1942. His birth name was maverick Allen Hendrix.
His father legally changed his name to James Marshall Hendrix when he got back from fighting in World War 2 (Black 12). After getting in trouble for being in stolen cars in Seattle, Hendrix was enlisted in the 101st airborne division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky in 1961. In 1962 he was discharged from the army. The reason wherefore is up to debate. He claims he was discharged from the army because of an mortise-and-tenon joint injury from a parachuting incident, but some hypothesise that Hendrix faked being gay to get himself discharged from the army.
