?Safe Injection Facilities (SIFs) be legally protected places where drug uses can refine pre-obtained drugs in a non-judgmental environment and receive things alike(p) health cargon, counseling, and referrals to other health and social services including drug treatment. Whether or not these facilities are considered right or wrong, I emotional state will always remain a complex debate, so coming from a sociologist point of view, its only graceful to take a look at all the pros and cons of these SIFs.
?Safe Injection Facilities definitely have their benefits for drug users and the world somewhat us. One of the main and obvious backgrounds SIFs should be considered thoroughly is because of why they are even created; to reduce public drug use and reduce the sharing of syringes among local injecting users. The users that start participating in these facilities are now considered off the street users or safe users, therefore, reducing public use. And, by attending these facilities you are forced to use clean syringes, therefore, SIFs reduce the pretend for users from obtaining a disease from another user.  I feel like another legitimate reason why SIFs are beneficial is because they promote a chance for users to enter a detox program.



Drug users who use the facility are to a greater extent likely to enter detox programs, especially if they have had touch sensation with the on-site substance use counselor (Wood). Another reason why SIFs are good to have is because they prevent drug users from overdosing since they are primarily supervised, but if they happen to overdose, they are mute in good care. Kerr (2006), tells us that a number of overdoses in Vancouver Canada have occurred at the SIF, and were managed in the facility by lag through the administration of oxygen, naloxone, and calls for ambulance support. Importantly, none of the overdose events resulted in a fatality.
