The Ku Klux Klan was initiative created in a town called Pulaski in Tennessee around 1865. It was formed by veterans of the Confederate Army. Basically they were a hate group that tried to get their group to be known. This article mostly dialogue about how the Klan looked and did throughout the years. Their heathen customs that spread and what actions they took. The author focused mainly on how they appeared and did. The title of the article did its job by summarizing the article purpose. throughout the article there were three significant emergences/episodes.
The first event the article talks about is how their customs were like. At first they wanted their group to be mysterious. The only option was for a costume to be adopted. Their only option was to get their supplies by force. They often used women garments. Klansmen had no intentions of look and dressing as women. The people against them described their costumes as womens clothes as an insult.
The second event the article talks about how they dissembled their faces and what they did with the disguise. The popular cultural inspired disguise that the Klansmen favored was black faces.
