Following the nine characters journey to Lordsburg reminded me a draw poker of the game Oregon Trail. I found a lot of similarities amongst the game and their journey, like the birth of Mrs. Mallorys son, rest-stops to refresh their needs, and the scene that made me draw the comparison between the game and the film was when they crossed the river with the horses and the stagecoach. I remember any Oregon Trail journey the players must cross a river exactly like how the stagecoach did in the movie. The reading of The westward as Combat Genre explains a western literary genre cultural myth of courageous warriors fighting noble battles and I found that the scene where the men of the stagecoach fighting the Geronimo and the Apaches depict this point very well. The men were very brave during that battle.
throughout the entire film there was very little tv camera movements. Majority of the scenes were just cut from one scene to the next. The transformation between new scenes also included fade in and fade outs. There was rarely any panning across the assort or zoom-ins or zoom-outs. At times it was hard to travel along what the characters were lecture about since the dialogue was very quick. It seemed like dialogue between the characters throughout the entire film was very indirect.
When characters were talking to one an early(a) they normally did not directly reckon the point, for example Ringo did not directly ask Dallas to marry him plainly instead he asked her to move in with her at his ranch. I found this a bit confusing to follow at times. There was not much soundtrack that accompanied the film. I theme that without the back ground music it made the scenes less salient and captivating. If there was more background music I feeling that the audience could better connect with the characters.
